Innovation can be a powerful tool that can be levered to design solutions to Jamaica's developmental challenges. From fostering economic growth through creation of new industries, increasing efficiency of our most competitive sectors, improving social services through advancements in education and healthcare; to the fortifying resilience through the scaling of renewable energy solutions and climate-smart agriculture; innovation can significantly impact the nation's well-being. Citizen engagement can also be enhanced by innovations, such as e-governance and financial inclusion tools.
To cultivate this culture of innovation, Jamaica can prioritize investment in research and development, build out a diversified early-stage financial infrastructure, and promote collaboration between academia, industry, and government to empower entrepreneurs and innovators to propel the nation towards a brighter future. The Impact Innovation Summit is being positioned as a vehicle to facilitate collaboration through the infusion of belief, confidence, and capacity to deliver real solutions, despite the perception of the constraints in our current context.
